Kathmandu: The killing of a woman in her 60's in broad daylight in Bhaktapur Sunday was 'planned' by her daughter.

Police investigation revealed that the murder of Sabitri Bhattarai at Chagunarayan municipality-7 was planned and directed by her daughter Ishwori Bhattarai. The Metropolitan Crime Division shared information about this through a press meet here today.

Police have arrested Mohammad Nausad of Kalyanpur municipality-4, Siraha; an Indian national Bhola Kumar aka Arjun Kumar, another Indian national Mohammed Rahish and the victim's daughter. Police succeeded in nabbing Nausad at 7:00 pm same day from Dhadhing and Bhola Kumar and Mohammed Rahis at 3:00 am today from Makwanpur while the daughter was arrested from Bhaktapur.

During the press meet, Division Chief Senior Superintendent of Police Sahakul Thapa said Ishwori was in relationship with Mohammed Nausad and planned the mother's killing out of fear that the latter would know about it and protest it.

They both had met at a garment factory as workers and became close. She promised to pay Rs 1.2 million to hire killers (Nausad's friends) from India as it seemed that Mohammed Nausad alone could not execute the plan," Thapa said. Bhola Kumar grasped Sabitri's hands, Mohammad Nausad covered her mouth and it was Mohammad Rahis who slit her throat. RSS
