Prize money of Aaha Rara Goldcup increased

Pokhara: The prize money of the Aaha Rara Gold Cup, a popular football tournament held here annually, has been increased. 

The winner of the 17th edition of the tournament will walk home with Rs. 801,000 while the runner-up will win Rs. 401,000 in cash. The tournament is organised by the Sahara Club and is being held this year from February 21. The prize money has been increased by 100,000 and 50,000 respectively. 

‘A’ division clubs, departmental teams, organising club and some foreign teams are going to take part in the tournament, according to the Club President Keshav Bahadur Thapa. The organisers expect to make a net income of around Rs. 3.2 million from the tournament. Aaha and Rara Instant noodles produced by Himshree Foods Private Limited are the main sponsors of the event.RSS
